In 2008/2009 Radu was a Masters student of JamesNoble and AlexPotanin at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and a member of the ELVIS software design research group.

In his project, Radu examined the use of multiple dispatch, a feature offered by some object-oriented programing languages. His research used an empirical approach to analyse a corpus of programs written in multiple dispatch languages.

A paper reporting on this research was published at OOPSLA 2008.
